What is
Feng Shui
Feng
Shui, meaning ‘wind and water’, is an ancient
Chinese art of living in harmony with your environment. By balancing
the Qi (energy) in our surroundings we can improve our health and
well-being, and bring positive changes to our lives.
Qi
(pronounced ‘chee’) is an invisible life force that
is constantly changing, and underlies every living and non living
thing. It provides a link between people and their surroundings. The
goal of Feng Shui is to enhance the Sheng (positive) Qi and control the
Sha (negative) Qi.
There are various schools of Feng Shui. This
consultation uses three main schools :
FORM SCHOOL Form School analyses the land on the outside of a
building, its contours such as mountains and the placement of water. In
addition to the outside influence; the shape and inside of the building
must also be considered, focusing significantly on the placement of
furniture.
COMPASS SCHOOL Compass School is a simplified version of Feng
Shui which was developed many centuries ago in China specifically for
foreigners. The building and site are divided into eight compass
sectors and a central sector. Each sector relates to a specific aspect
of your life; wealth, family and health, abundance, career, fame and
reputation, marriage and partnerships, children, support, and
knowledge. Although Compass
School is popular with the public as it is relatively simple to
interpret, it should only be used in context with a more comprehensive
school of Feng Shui.
FLYING
STAR SCHOOL Flying
Star school is the traditional Chinese Feng Shui based on numerology,
which is the ‘language’ of the universe. It is also
considered superior to the other schools as it takes into account the
influence of time on a building. Flying Stars is the most complex,
accurate and powerful form of Feng Shui. Many Flying Star school
recommendations will overrule recommendations of other schools of Feng
Shui.
